Good Evening Everyone,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Since I'm new and I figure I'll be spending a lot of time in this forum (I love landscape photography), I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Michael Atkins and I am 30yrs old. I live in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Alaska right now (military) with my wife Robyn and our bundle of joy. We're expecting Ava on Jan 1st if she comes on time. I've always loved photography, but just recently started taking it seriously (not too seriously though). I feel like I have a lot to learn and look forward to talking to all of you. I've been on Flickr for a little over a year and I am incredibly grateful to have found this site. After only browsing for a couple days I feel like this is the photography community I was looking for. Well enough is enough, if left unchecked I have a tendency to ramble.

Here are some of my favorite pictures I have taken in the last year. All of these photos are in Alaska.
Waterfall taken in Girdwood about 30mins outside of Anchorage

Beaver dam on Elmendorf AFB about 1 mile from my house

Cordova harbor in the early evening. A beautiful place if you go to the trouble to get there - can only fly or take a 4-8hr ferry ride depending on season.

Childs Glacier about 45 miles outside of Cordova

I believe this is Crows Creek - Off the road on the way toward Girdwood.

And last but not least - one more from on Elmendorf AFB

Well that's it for now... I hope you all enjoy. I will continue to post more as I shoot more.

IMO the more words the better. Words are great paired with photography so feel free to cut loose and tell your tales

Anyway, really enjoyed the shots you shared! My grandparents just got back from a 2 week trip to Alaska, and they loved it. Looking forward to seeing you around more often!
I think you are going to have a great time here. There are so many aspects of photography that will challenge you to the end and this is one place you can share in the good and bad of it all:D I have many great memories of Alaska, getting dropped off in the wilderness for five days only to be picked up again weather permitting. I never prayed so hard for good weather in my life.
Great images and welcome
