After my rant about winter recently, I vowed to take more photos. I didn't really, until this past weekend. Pretty mild (-5C) weather had me outside all Sunday. I shovelled the walk, and then tackled the driveway too, then spent some time with the camera. The results:

Downy:

BBIF:

This little finch (red poll?) is confused, and hangs with the chickadees. Any other time there have been redpolls or pther finch species around, they've been here in large flocks.

I have all of next week off work, and am looking forward to shooting lots! Actually have several things in mind.

You're going to get hooked Ann. Soon you'll be setting up a blind in the backyard and your husband and kids will think you've gone mad.

mwink.gif as if they don't already!

Feeder birds are a favorite subject of mine, but I need to get more 'natural' looking perches for them...oh, and the 1.4X TC that tops my wish list, thanks to YOU!

Thanks, Stephen - but -5 is, unfortunately, really mild for a December day. It's about -18C outside right now rolleyes1.gif

Chart with C & F degrees for comparison?

Since so many indicate temperature on the two different scales does anyone know where a chart can be downloaded that shows the two together? I know that I having grown up with the temperature indicated as so many degrees F have only a vague understanding of converting when it is shown as degrees C. Like above I think that woud be something in the 20's on the F scale but I have no idea exactly what. I have a feeling others are in the same boat but doing conversion in the other direction.

PS Wish I could have used headscratch.gif or ne_nau.gif for an icon for the whole message rather than just the ?.

What I had in mind was a chart

What I had in mind was a chart that lists Celsiius and Fahrenheit on either side of a scale so that it would not have to be searched for every time you wondered about the conversion (if you had printed it). Guess I need to Google and see if it is available.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
