Channel Islands NP: Worth the Trip??

I will be in the Thousand Oaks CA area over the next week or so. I will have some free time to go out and shoot, but very limited. Is a trip out of the Ventura Center to the Channel Islands worth it this time of year? I would have about 5 hours max from the center to the islands and back.

    I haven't been there but
    It's an all day thing - not 5 hours worth. If you have 5 hours from Thousand Oaks I would rather go to Malibu, Santa Monica, Ventura (the town is interesting to shoot as well as the pier, beach area) The Santa Barbara Zoo (timing is tight), The Getty - either Mailbu or near Sunset, The Griffith Observatory, Travel Town, For hiking there is Wildwood, Topanga. A drive through Santa Rosa Valley into Oxnard has some interesting views and the Underwood Family Farms sometimes has things worth shooting. Moorpark College has a zoo too that is interesting.
