Group shooting in NYC

Several Strobists are working on getting a shoot together on January 26 in the NYC area. We're brainstorming locations where we can have 20 or so shooters, models and lighting equipment. Unfortunately, none of us seem to be well endowed with location picking skills.

We'd rather stick to a private or semi-public space (warehouse, parking garage) so we can deal with the owner at most and avoid permits. 5 Pointz in Queens is on the top of our list, if anyone has a contact that can help.

Our next idea is checking into a permit to shoot at the underpass near Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, the old South Street Fish Market and underneath the Manhattan Bridge.

Does anyone have suggestions? If permits are required, a pointer of who to call is appreciated as I've never handled permits before.

Thanks in advance.
Terrence
