Hi Everyone and Happy Holidays !!

Some more ducks and water birds that I have accumulated over a period of time but haven't had the chance to post.
I labeled the species over each picture. I hope I have them all correct, they are very hard to identify sometimes, especially when you can't see the top of their wings for color. If I made any mistakes let me know.

Hope you like them. Comments welcome.

Some very unusual "poses" captured here (5,7,10). Love the look on their "faces" especially 7 & 10

Hi Jack, Thanks for viewing and for your comments. As I mentioned in Don't Forget to Duck - Part #1, these guys are like rockets when they are coming at you in full flight.. if they spot you they take evasive action and get in some very contorted poses.

Hi Swartzy, Thanks for your comments. The last shot is a full crop and I almost had to Duck (pardon the pun). They are fun to shoot and really help to hone your technique for wing shooting other BIF's.

Hi Mike, I went through and labeled all the birds here and in the other post "Mixed Critters". The one you asked about is a Northern Shoveler - male.
Thanks for viewing and for your comments.

Wow, these are amazing and beautiful photos. I very much like them all, but number 3 looks particularly beautiful and graceful. Nice shooting, very nice.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks to everyone that posted a comment. Shooting these guys really hones your skills for other BIF's. Shooting hawks after trying to track these guys is a piece of cake. Especially when they are zooming right over your head. I've almost fallen over backwards a couple times tracking with follow through.

One of the greatest shots I have ever seen was taken of an Owl that was coming right at the lady photog diving at full speed.. She said it almost knocked her over and from looking at the shot you can tell that if she hadn't shot it and then ducked real fast it would probably have collided with her. It won 1st place in several national contests a year or so ago.. That photo is what I think of every time I have something coming right at me. It was fabulous. Hope someone knows the photo I am talking about.

I'm glad you liked these shots..
