Merry Christmas

My first (picture) post. This is a photo of my son that I used for Christmas cards this year. I know it is not especially sharp, but I have to take what I can get of the model's time - if you now what I mean (getting him to sit still for the entire time the shutter is open is a challenge). You forum regulars don't know me, but I have learned much by lurking - so I want to wish you a happy holiday.

Merry Christmas to everyone. If you subscribe to a different faith, then please accept this as a sincere wish for your happiness and peace (which is how it is intended, in any case).

Marina - yes, he is contemplating a present. he is grinning slightly because he thinks (incorrectly) that if he phrases the request just right, his mother will let him open that gift early (he knows not to ask me :-)

George - Thank you for the nice comments.

    It's a nice shot Bruce.

I'd love to know more about the pooch in your avatar photo, too.

    Thanks Ann.

That is Sophy in my avatar. She was almost six months old at the time of that photo, and is approaching 11 months of age (and 120 pounds in weight) now. She is a Newfoundland (pure, even though she is chocolate colored), and a complete sweetheart. Not sure you can tell by the avatar photo, but at that time she had her 'puppy' fur - which made her very soft all over (and she was approx 60 pounds at that time - so, very cute and cuddly).

Now she has adult fur, but her ears are still pretty soft.

I had no idea newfs came as chocolates! Cool! She looks lovely. My aunt had a newf, and aunt and mom in law have had Pyr's. We have a mixed breed:
St. Bernard/Akita X St. Bernard/Pyr/lab. He is lovely too. Here you'll see him at about 6 months, still with puppy fur.
