Hi Y'all,

I had wnated to post these earlier but my PC's HD got fried so I had to wait to get my new PC. Anyhow here's a few shots from Nancy's, Trish's and my session with our local eagle.

I got all the traditional "eagle on a stick" poses.

    clap.gif Beautiful shots harry! And that last kingfisher(?) is tack sharp, even at heavy crop!

    Always love those eagle shots! Very stately poses there and I agree with Glenn, the kingfisher heavily cropped turned out quite well. I love the extended wings!

    Man Harry.. You're killin me over here. Got a pair of eagles that are hanging around here but they won't come to my side of the lake, they sit on the high boulders on the other side, which I can't get anywhere close to.. then they just fly off.

    Thanks Mike. i was very surprised that the KF shot held because it was a very heavy crop (around 75).

    I'll get a Mac the day after I get a Canon. The problem was a series of power outages and surges. Whatever system I was using was gonna get fried.

    Thanks Chris, I'm lucky that our eagles like to come into the wetlands for a fish or a coot and they usually perch n this same tree all the time.

    A mac wouldn't help with the power surges we went through. It was the electricity not the OS.

    Beautiful captures, Harry. Amazing kingfisher capture. And the eagles of course are wonderful. bowdown.gif

    To power-proof your PC, I highy recommend getting an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS). In addition to allowing you to cruise right through power outages, it also isolates your computer from line voltage to prevent damage from surges. You connect your CPU, monitor and your networking equipment to it. Something like this will do you fine.

    Thanks Joel, I've just bought two UPSs (one for me and one for Linda). The data recovery folks also contacted me and they say there's a 98% chance they can recover the data from the fried HD clap.gif and its only gonna cost me $1400 :cry :bash
