I just wanted to clarify something. You said you could now sell off two of your Sigma lenses, but list the 24-70 as a Canon lens. Which brand is it?

I am offering to trade my 40D for either lens listed. I need both lenses for the 1D. I had a Sigma 10-20 and still have a Sigma 18-50 macro, both like new. The 10-20 has sold, and it appears nobody has a need for a very sharp and fast Sigma walkaround lens, so now I am just concentrating on the 40D.

How's the 1D III? Amazing images I have been seeing from 3200 up.

iloveyou.gif Love the iso performance. The only thing I would change on the III would be to add some way to store 3 custom quick slots like the C1/C2/C3 on the 40D. It saves up to 10 settings but on the flash card, so they are easily lost and actually difficult to store (if you want to custom name them).

The 40D is about as near a perfect camera as can be found in the line up at this point for the hobbyist. Every day, I consider keeping it as a backup, so I hope it sells or trades quickly, else I will have have a ton of money wrapped up into two bodies, one of which I don't need, but really want.

Will the 40D come anywhere close to the III at 3200.

I haven't seen what the 1D III can do yet, but this question got me wondering about my own 40D, so I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. Here's a sample...

    ISO 3200, 1/100, 2.8 on the 17-55 IS
just tweaked a bit in ACR but nothing else

Here's the shot with some noiseware and other very minor pp applied...

folks, there's a handful of threads already going on in cameras about 40D and 1Dmkiii high ISO performance. Let's keep this about the sale.

    thanks,
