I ran out of time for my original idea for this round so I went to the beach tonight to see what I could turn up.

Salt Water Taffy

Gnomon

Any preferences between these two shots? I posted Gnomon just to have something in the thread as time is running short.

Definitely number 1 out of these two! thumb.gif if you don't come up with something else, as you are the original idea's guy!

Even though I like your current entry, I think I prefer the first one as it is different - and the title is an added bonus!

#1 for me. I must admit though that the theme is fairly open ended, meaning that interpretation is really that of the photographer. I see seconds, milliseconds in this shot but believe something more intreging is at your disposal. Realizing that time is way too short now, I would support #1 as the entry. I always enjoy your takes and insight.

Thanks all for your comments. I ended up switching my entry. My wife commented that what I was after with Gnomon was too obscure. Besides, the time span that shot is about would be better described as minutes rather than seconds.

Here's a few more shots from that evening; nothing particularly in theme:

This buoy was blinking every few seconds, but it doesn't come across in the shot:

No theme here at all, but I like it:
