Matte Paper looks like Lustre

I just ordered some matte prints for a client. When they came in they looked like lustre to me having a slight sheen and texture. I reported it and SmugMug quickly replaced the prints but the new ones were exactly the same. I went to B&H and looked at samples of printer papers and the matte I have used for years is flat with NO sheen and lustre or semi-gloss has a slight sheen and texture. The FLAT non-reflective surface is what I was expecting. I also took the prints to my gallery and they said they look like lustre as well.

Has anyone had any experience with ordering Mattte prints? Is this lustre look the standard surface for matte from a photo lab?

The client was very happy and did not mention the surface so I am not unhappy at all with the quality, I just want clarity on what to expect in a Matte print.

Like Sebastian said, if the Message below was on the prints, then it was lustre. And like Dustin said, there's certain a difference between papers from Fuji (Fuji Crystal Archive) and other papers you might have used.

Matte is dull, and thinner than our Lustre.

Lustre has a satin-like sheen and a modestly textured surface which you can see when the light angle is just right.

Lustre paper is .7mils thicker than gloss and matte. In addition, Lustre paper is watermarked on the back as follows: "Fuji Professional Paper. If copyright applies, permission to reproduce required."

I hope this helps and if you have any questions holler.

    Looks like Lustre to me
thanks andy. It DOES NOT have the © line just the cone numbers/date and Fuji Crystal Archive. It is heavy and clearly excllent quality, no doubt.
I've never used a commercial printer so maybe I just don't know what their paper looks like. I'm sorry but it looks like lustre to me and everyone I show it to agrees.

I was wondering of anyone else had any experience with the matte paper. I wanted to have some prints made to paint on but this surface is too shiny and won't accept paint.
