I went to San Diego back in Dec 6th-12th. I went there to visit University of California San Diego's Graduate program. Well .. that was the trip on paper, I spent most of my time on the beaches to take some photographs. hehehe! I did get to see the campus and it was huuuge! HUGE!
I was amazed at how irritatingly hard it was to find a blasted parking spot! :scratch:wxwax
But I was also amazed at its Mediterranean like environment. No wonder why they get bad fires, hardly any rain and humidity.
My parents went to San Diego before me, I was supposed to be in LA but after certain circumstances I found my way down to San Diego instead.
My friend was telling me about these houses .... And a lot of what people do around Miramar blvd. Shop. Well you know, I asked her, if they have money they can burn they can always donate it to me! :barb
I actually took some shots of birds this trip. The dark looking one looked so mean when I took that shot! Look its eyes are blood red!! :soapbox
I continued around Miramar Lake to take some shots till ... it finally poured. I was informed that before I was there it was raining quite often. I brought rain in from Ireland. :thumb
Well the point of the trip. I got around the UCSD by car and parked at a nearby lot. Little did I know, I would be asked 5x if I was leaving only when I needed to drop off some stuff. Everyone seems to be driving there...
But the bulk of the trip or photographs were of the Wind and Sea beach and La Jolla Cove!
You know... I never once saw a squirrel while I was out there.. maybe that is why..
I .... just happened to have not taken off my shoes and rolled up my pant legs when the wave crashed.
I take a lot of my shoes and feet pictures wherever I travel. It makes me feel like I have been everywhere with my own two feet!
Plus they are great subjects to shoot, they never complain or move. They might just smell funny... :rofl
I saw so many photographers at the Wind And Sea beach that I was snooping around for someone with the Smugmug strap... I don't think I found one that day. :cry
I made those pits... from leap frogging from one giant rock to another... lemme find a rock picture!
A barefoot photo!! I like the texture.. don't mind the pale feet..
I think my first real attempt at a sunset. Reminds me of school colors, orange and black!
So On my last day in San Diego I spent the day at Balboa Park. Huge with tons of museums and I saw the dead sea scrolls. Interesting... but I rather shoot! :barb
I wish someone would pass by me to take my photo... it's rather weird to pose like this and only get my face...

That said, I totally could have been spared this one :
It looks like you did and saw a lot in San Diego ~ glad the trip worked out well on all accounts. Thanks for sharing such a versatile range of scenes; I feel like I've seen a lot of what SD has to offer!
PS - I have a soft spot for parent pics that's a sweet picture of mom and dad.
I don't know if I captured all of the scenes of San Diego, though. I didn't get to shoot any pictures of the shopping areas, though I tried but got in trouble. And I am pretty sure there is a mountain range within driving distance that I could have visited and shot!
My parents looove San Diego! But they said the same thing about Texas, Arizona, Florida, and California. They want to move there! haha!!

I really liked your tennis shoe shots to be honest! Thanks for posting all of these.

Well I forgot the link to the whole gallery, haha!

And believe it or not, UCSD probably has the best parking situation of all the UC campuses with UCLA and Cal being the worst.
