I took my best friends two girls to the park this weekend to feed the ducks. I converted this great shot to watercolor.

I like the shot - good subject material and good composition with the girls off center in the frame. I think that you may have too little of the "painted" effect in this shot - maybe a bit more to make it more dramatic. I would be interested to see the original shot as well.

    Thanks for posting this.

P.S. You may get more response with posting the photo right in the forum rather than linking to the shot. Just a thought.

Looking at the image from your link is not pleasing upon inspection. The composition is nicely done, but there are some hard edges (black lines) on anything that meets the water, quite noticeable on the little girls face and hand.

Personally, I don't see this image as a watercolor as it is. Could be my monitor, could be the PP, could be a combination of the two.

I'm fairly new to this. I started giving a link to my photos vs. the actual photo itself based on threads I've been reading.

    Here is the original photo:

I've also done this same image in b&w:

I like the color original or the B&W version over the "painted" version. It's a pleasing photo in its own right.

I like the original, too! thumb.gif

I'm curious...what threads have you been reading that suggest providing links is better? Or maybe I misunderstood what you were saying. headscratch.gif

Here's an example of a thread that provides several links to their pictures:

Can you give me an example of how I should be posting these since I am new to this?

The easiest way to add a photo to a post is to click on the "Manage Attachments" button when you are building the thread and the forum software will allow you to upload a photo to be inserted with the text.

You can also direct link to photos from your Smugmug account or other photo hosting site using the button that looks like a landscape with a sun on the horizon.

Here's a tutorial on how to post pics here on DGrin.

We love to see your own photos posted right into your message. It looks like you're posting from Smug, so take a look at the tutorial and you'll be showing off your pics in no time! thumb.gif But don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions.
