Camouflage Lunch! :D
With an Indian Magpie!

My first effort ...

The magpie is a pretty active bird and is rarely still!

Also the fact that this fella lives on a giant Eucalyptus does not help!

Check the first pic closely ... :rolleyes

You will NOT SPOT the magpie here ... :rolleyes:uhoh

Now the host arrives ... :tiptoe

Yes! Please look hard and you will find ... :rolleyes:nod

Wow! What a handsome bird. I thought magpies were black and white. I've learned something new. I had to go to your gallery to find it. It took me a while but I definitely saw it (in the last frame) :D.

Go to the left hand side of the image. Midway down. Slowly travel toward the middle of the picture. Just before midway you'll see a green bird, with a brighter green face and a reddish/brown crown, with a black stripe and what appears to be a yellow mark on his head. He's looking down. He is right where the two branches start to seperate.

    OP, gorgeous bird!!

No, you are correct, but from your link I can see why I wasn't familiar with it. It is from Tibet and India! :D Was the photo taken at a zoo or did you take this picture in Tibet or India?

Natures camouflage is amazing. Is that a eucalyptus tree?

Yes indeed leaforte, looks like the eucalyptus and this birdy are made for
    each other!

Very nicely done! Good camo too - I had to go to the last pic to find it!

It's definitely some kind of bee-eater, rather than the magpie you suggest. Maybe this one?

Here is one of the South African bee-eaters:

    Thanks BigAl! thumb.gif

Yes indeed you have a point!
It seems to be a bee eater after all - as this link strongly suggests!
    {http://www.birding.in/birds/Coraciiformes/Meropidae/little_green_bee-eater.htm}

Let me reiterate that I am NOT an expert on birds in any way!
But I like this birdy, very energetic and colorful!

After I shot them not a single one has been spotted!
Waiting for them to come back!
Had managed to catch one in flight though.

Take a look ... love the way they dart across! iloveyou.gif

Can't wait to see more from the beautiful birds you have in India whether it be magpies or bee-eaters.
