Can anyone give me suggestions for software to keep track of sales, expenses, etc., I've been searching this forum for help and can't find any topics. It's a unique business where depending on the niche, you may have inventory, but mostly not. I tried the "simply accounting" download which is a great program just not very flow friendly for this type of business....there has to be something!?!? Anyone with ideas!

Quicken or QuickBooks is probably your best bet.

    QuickBooks without a doubt
My day job is that of Certified QuickBooks Advisor. It will let you track inventory if you have it, costs and fixed assets (gear/desks/computers and even your car if you use it for business). It will let you create a database of vendors/suppliers and customers as well and track profits by customer or product depending on the version you select.

I would suggest you find a local bookkeeper to set up the program for you. The few hours it would take them to do that is well worth the investment it will save you hours of headaches and your accountant will be happy as well. Plus they can teach you how to use it!

I've just started playing with Photobyte & it looks quite promising. Santa also brought me Mr. Zimberoff's book to go with it. :D I'm going to give that a real good read & in 2008 make a more serious attempt at making my photography at least pay for itself if not bring in some sorely-needed income.

If nothing else, it has a lot of useful photography-related forms to help out with.
