Screams chocolate paradise for me... Love the skin color, a winner!
It's funny how kids can enjoy licking their fingers...

the First one grabs my eye a bit more as there is NO facial expression to steal my view, and you get the feel of just how much the subject is enjoying the chocolate..reminds me "Finger Lickin' Good"...although I find that the skin tone appears to have a bit of greenish hue especially on the left side.
The second is also a good image, but from this image, I feel that the child is really NOT enjoying what is on the spoon, his expression is contradicting. this image reminds me of the title "A Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Medicine Go Down", another area that is grabbing my eye is the transparency spots on his left ear lobe and his right shoulder area.
Good Luck in whichever you choose..
Donna
I was waiting until I could get back into my shop and calibrate my monitor before commenting on the skin tone. It is more apparent directly under the child's eye...
I like the first image...it shows more the action of eating the cake, and even the enjoyment of eating it. The second picture, while adorable, I don't think quite fits the theme...not truly action, and has more of a looking at the camera trying to pose look rather than "thoughts" of enjoying the cake.
just my opinion....best of luck

GIVING BACK - How will you give?
You guys have articulated what I couldn't...I *like* the BW photo better, but for the contest the entered one is more action oriented. I will work on the skin tone, i tried to tone down the red and in the process made it look green...so I'll work on that.
Thanks guys!!!

The Black and white is certainly a strong possibility but along the same lines as has already been mentioned the first fits the theme better.
The green for me fits - It gives a sense of sterility that is marred by the messy cake.
