A tale of three cities

As I get more into this photography thing, I can't help but get the sense that wherever I go in the world I seem to bring a certain weather with me.....

On my first day in New York, it did nothing but rain:

The one time we got a chance to have a good drive around Dallas and look for places to take photos, it rained (well, it drizzled none stop):

Now, if my weather is going to follow me to California, surely it has a fight on its hands? Well, in San Francisco, it did try:

Still, in San Francisco, at least the evenings were clear:

I've been allowed home to dear England for the holiday and guess what? It's done nothing but rain (and freeze). Sorry, no photos for that - can't motivate myself (besides, a fourth city would be OT).

Perhaps I should consider training to be a specialist in photographing otherwise good scenes that are made grim by the weather?

I think that you did well considering the circumstances and the weather that you were presented with. I like the Dallas photo - nice light in that one (the cranes or whatever are a bit distracting to the right in the frame). I also think the shot of San Francisco at night is well done. Good exposure on that one.

Thanks for posting these and I think that you did quite well overall from my vantage point.

Thanks for taking a look and commenting. The cranes in the Dallas photo are indeed distracting. I shall be be looking for a better vantage point to take a photo of this very photogenic business district next time I'm visiting.

No problem - I really did enjoy these. Did you take any more that you can post as well in this thread?
