Hi everyone, I'm a newbie from australia, and I'm having a blast looking through the site. Just thought I would post something I did the other day and ask for your opinions.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Well it was late afternoon and the light was hitting it well...But i was so busy snapping away with the 35mm, I kind of missed it, and I just thought that it looked a bit more interesting in black and white, but I think I'm going through a phase...lol. Also, I only have mc crappy point and shoot digital, I have been doing most of my creative stuff with the EOS 30.

Hiya rah, great to have you here and posting. wave.gif Cool plant and nice B&W. Two things I wonder about: which bit's in focus? And it might look a wee bit better if the busy part were just a touch more to the left in the frame (but not centered) - it sorta feels cut off right now. It's a striking photo, though. thumb.gif

I like the shot. I think the B&W works. It gives me a feel of those micron microscope shots. I agree with wxwax though is it a DOF of 2.8 focused in on the middle right, or is it a smaller aperture but soft?

Unfortunately, at the moment I only have a point and shoot digital, as last year I spent all m saved money on an EOS 30 35mm...But just wait till I get my hands on a 20D...I get excited just thinking about it..lol.
