This is 1 of 10 shots from an area on the south coast of Iceland called Dyrholaey. The road leading to this area is 2 kilometers of large potholes ... slow going but worth the destination!
There was a great deal of wind, haze and spray and at one point it was hard to even stand ... yeehaw. Light and cloud conditions changed every 2 minutes making for lots of interesting light off the cliffs.
Yes ... the sand is really pitch black (see other shots) and the moss on the lava/cliffs is really 'that' color.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
