One of my favourite wasps

Gave this tiny wasp a "Christmas pressy" of a drop of honey on a drinks coaster to keep it stationary whilst I photographed it. About 2.5mm body length- a parasitoid chalcid wasp.

Ahahaha as soon as I saw this little guy without reading what you had written,
I said to myself... I bet he lured it there with sugar water or honey
If bugs could look to be male or female this little wasp to me looks female.
I love the shimmering gold colours on its body too
Nicely done Brian .... Skippy

Great shots of your little metalic wasp....amazing that you still have them at this time of year!
Patricia........:D
Hi Brian I see your caprures just get better and better. Howver, Brian I did not get my MP-E65mm for Xmas as my mother in law had to cancel her trip to Memphis due to health problems. However, I hope to be going over soon so I will just have to wait a wee bit longer.

Skippy- not sure about the sex - I would have guessed male but I'm not certain the females always have a visible ovipositor.
Patricia - still have a few flying bugs around but they are hard to find. We have only had about 6 frosts so far and no snow (very rarely get snow here).
