Display X most recent photos on the homepage?

I find it odd there doesn't seem to be a way to display X number of recent photos on your home page (ala that other services Photostream), am I missing something obvious? Is there anyway to do that? I see there is a Recent Photos feed, which provides that data but no way to integrate it on the homepage.

A slightly related question... Is it possible to set the feature photo of a gallery to automatically be the most recent photo in the gallery? So for example in the Email gallery can you have the feature photo set to the most recently emailed photo each time you email one in?

Bump! I've been looking for this too. I know you can do it by time, eg. display all the photos in the last week/month etc. but as I don't upload to SmugMug at regular intervals, it would be better for me to specify say the 10 most recent photos uploaded. Then it wouldn't matter how long before the next upload, those 10 would remain showing.
