These guys were out in the noon day sun at Natahala Gore, Western NC. The river is fed by the Fontana Dam.

    That's very cool.

Are you using a polarizer at all?

Nice shots, and I'm also interested what filtration you might have used..

    Isn't it "Nantahala Gorge?"

Yes you are correct, it is Nantahala Gore.

I did not use a polorizer or anything other than the UV filter for protection on my 80-200.

It was a lot of fun taking shots of these guys, the problem is to find someplace like this in the Maryland/DC area that I can shot some more Kayakers!

    Any ideas anyone?

Tons of them at great falls (you can stand on the virginia or md side, depending on where the action is that day and what is easiest for you to get to). You'll need a pretty long lens as the clifs at the waters edge can be up to 80' tall or so, so you'll be well above the kayakers. There are some spots where you can scramble down, or you can always repel if you are into thatdeal.gif
