Happy New Year folks. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.
I thought I'd kick off the New year with some recent osprey pics. :eek::biggrin:
Had a really good week last week. Had a good time shooting with Ron & Jose (pics to be posted someday). Also had a great morning last Friday. Snapped a couple hundred osprey shots from a little aluminum row boat I slapped a motor on. Presented some great low angle pics on the water. I am kind of diggingthe "toy boat". :cool:
Most of these were taken in a 3 hr span Friday morning. Can't wait to get back out there.

    I was reading the other day in the book I posted here ("Bird") some very interesting facts about the Osprey that I didn't know. Quote "Its claws are specially adapted to help grasp its prey. The soles are spiny so the fish can't wiggle out and the front outer talon is reversible and can be moved backwards to enable it to grasp with two talons, one on each side of the fish".

    Just a tidbit I didn't know.
    Keep em coming, I haven't seen any Osprey around here in months.

    Those are some fantastic shots. I love the eyes on all of them especially the last one. Very impressive. Too bad we just get sparrows and blue tits round here.

    Thanks. Sounds like a book someone needs to give me. :D Lots of interesting trivia regarding ospreys. Did you know they seldom...if ever drink water? They get all their liquid requirements from the fresh fish they eat. They also speak 3 different languages including Japanese. eek7.gif:D Just making sure you're paying attention. rolleyes1.gif
