Bald Eagles from Llano, Texas
I spent nine hours observing a pair of nesting bald eagles after a three hour trip to get to them. Funny thing, within about 2 hours all of the nice light had gone, but I still had good time just watching these regal eagles.
Within about 30 minutes of arriving I was treated to this nice perch in good, amber light.

Here the baldie is on a different perch in front of its nest calling out.

While on the same perch, I got a nice front view of the baldie, but the shadow could not have been in a worse place. :rofl Still I like the image.

It did turn for me though so I did get a good side view of the face.

I have some of the nest, but I will wait and post that in another thread. I don't want to overwhelm this thread. Those on dial-up are already going to have a tough time as it is.
By afternoon the sun had shifted the light was not as favorable no matter where I positioned myself. But, I got a few usable images.
Looking down, probably at a squirrel that was running around the tree. That squirrel had some cojones! But I suppose the river behind the nest kept the eagles well fed so there was no need to worry about the squirrel, at least for now.

None of them are as nice as that first one!

Ric. I swear, if I had known that my best pic was to come about thirty minutes after arriving I would have left and done some more birding in the Hill Country somewhere else. As it stood, I was there nine hours and all my best shots were from the very early morning.

Thanks Dave. I actually got one fly-by but since I had my TC connected to my lens, I had lost AF so the BIF did not turn out. Oh well, there is always next time.

Thanks Glenn. Those and the fourth one are my favorites from the perches.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I thought the same Russ. Thanks.

Thanks Harry. I will admit it was the fastest nine hours I have spent in a while. While I am at it, I redid several of the above pics. I wasn't satisfied with the shadows and highlights at all. Here is one redo.

Thanks Mike. I'll trade you a few eagles if you can send me some more cooperative ospreys.
