Stopped For lunchtime pictures

and caught a Hawk having his lunch. I stopped to take a shot and he flew off his perch and caught his lunch and retired to another tree to enjoy it.
I think it is a juvenile Red Shoulder I took a few shots of the day before he is smaller than a Red Tail. Felt I needed to offer him some water it took him some time to get the mouse down.
Took these hand held leaning against my van D300and 170-500mm Sigma. I apologize for the rough crops.

    More Hawks
    After the Red Shoulder having lunch there was 2 Red Tails sitting near each other. Looks like one was an old one or just has had a tougher life. Looked like he had damage around one eye in the past and he was only perched on one foot for quite some time. Can see him holding up his one foot even when he stretced he did not fully hold on with his other foot.

    In that sequence with mouse I like the last one the most as you can see the tail hanging out of the mouth of the hawk. I would have thought that the hawk would have taken small bits of flesh instead of downing it practically whole. Nice behaviorals.
