OEM Battery Grip for Canon 5D

I saw couple of third party battery grid for 5D is some website before. Just wonder whether it is worth to invest the third party battery grids.

    In comparison to some of the grips that Canon makes for their other bodies, the one for the 5D is actually quite nice. It's made out of magnesium rather than plastic, doesn't flex much, fits the shape of the camera pretty well and has is covered in the same rubber material that the body does. IMHO I would go with the Canon.

    I think the Canon grip for the 5D is made of plastic as well. It is very nice though.

    Opteka and I think maybe Tragus make their own version. I have a Canon grip for a 30D, had a Canon grip for the XTi, and have an Opteka grip for the XTi. Opteka uses different material for the plastic grip and the buttons do not feel the same. It tends to feel much cheaper.

    If you can afford it, I'd go with the Canon version. If I had to do it again, I would have gotten the Canon version for the XTi again.
