Hi Everyone,
I know you probably think I can't shoot anything that doesn't have a huge wing span and deadly sharp talons.. but I can..:rofl
Here are a few shots taken with my XTI and 40D either by the feeders or in the field.
They are fun to shoot and very cute.

Hi Jack.. I posted links to the exif screen shots below. When looking at this please take into consideration how they were taken.. explained below.
I don't recall how close I was but it was fairly close in all shots.. 30 feet +/- (#5 was about 50')
I was using my 300 2.8 which is a very sharp lens and on some I had the 1.4 extender.
Two did not have a flash used (#1 & #5) as they were taken at the lake. #5 was taken fairly early in the day as the sun was creeping up over the big hill I was tucked down behind while hiding and waiting for the eagles to show up so there are some shadows on it. #1 was in broad daylight.
#2, 3, 4, 6 - I got a 580 EX II and have been playing with it at my bird feeder with the Better Beamer attached, so the settings are all over the place. I was using TV, AV and M modes. Some High Speed Sync.. some not.
So, these might not help you out much because the flash info isn't there and I don't remember what it was for the individual shots cause I was trying different settings on several different days.
Here are the links (labeled the same as the image above).. Hope it helps.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
