My first baby portrait session
So I took the plunge this weekend and did my first baby portrait session, not having any idea what I was getting into! I had taken photos of kids from ages 1 to 15 already, but photographing a 3 month old was something entirely new.
I loved it! Grady was extremely cooperative, and even decided to take a little nap after an hour and a half of taking pictures, eating, taking more pictures, eating, taking even more photos, and eating again!
Here are a couple of samples. For some reason, I think black and white looks extremely good in the case of babies.

The second and third one are a bit too flat/dark for my tastes. Try boosting contrast and brightening them a tad.
Very nice set!

Why is it that so many teeny tiny baby photos have the back of a parent's head in them. I've noticed that tendancy in the shots I've taken of my three grandchildren. I think it's pure laziness on the part of the photographer. Get the faces people! The back of Dad's head is a trite shot. 'Scuse me while I dismount my soapbox.
Natural selection is responsible for every living thing that exists.
D3s, D500, D5300, and way more glass than the wife knows about.
Hmm ... perhaps the reason so many have the back of their parent's head is because many parents like those types of shots?
Just a thought
