I found this site by accident, mostly because I have a smugmug account,
which I use with my ADVrider account...

I don't have any fancy equipment, just a point an click or two that I carry on the bike...but sometimes I get a lucky shot!!

So "HI" Everyone...

I had my little Canon in "Super macro" mode.

Welcome to the forum Ron :) and what a wonderfully unique picture of what I assume are swallowtails. Excellent shot angle :)

Welcome to the Dgrin Forum ZZR_Ron.
What an amazing shot clap.gif ... I've never seen anything like it.
You don't have to have a super cool camera to take good shots,
its a combination of the Person behind the Lens and the Gear they use.

You should be very very pleased with this image nod.gif
Awesome angle you chose for this shot too.

Enjoy the Forum, I am sure you will, and we look forward to your sharing more with us thumb.gif ........ Skippy :D

Thanks for the welcome, and the kind words!

I'm hoping to read through the forums, ask some questions, and learn how to take better pictures more consistently.

I'm just using two point and shoot cameras right now, a Kodak Superzoom(10X), and a little Canon point and shoot.

Love to have a DSLR, but don't want to buy anything until I know more,
and a bit broke right now!

I guess the other thing is that I beat the crap out of cameras on my 650 Dualsport motorcycle, if I break these it doesn't hurt so much...:D

    Beautiful welcome to the forum
looking forward for more photos .

Thank you! because of where I live, and the fact that I live on a dirt bike all summer, I get a lot of wildlife pics.

Unfortunately, they're often shot from a moving motorcycle.

Hey Ron, I hear ya. I have gone through 8 P+S digital cameras on my dualsport rides so far. Some my fault, some not. I had a brand new Kodak
6340(?) with 12 shots, until I got whacked off my bike by a branch and landed
    on my camera.

    Enjoy your stay.

nice shot, reminded me of a sci fi movie from the late nineties called Starship Troopers.

The giant bugs are attacking :)

    Wow, that's an amazing photo!

How many butterflies were there, and how in the world did you get them to stand still?? I'm getting visions of large quantities of glue... mwink.gif

To be really honest , they appeared to be attracted to deer poop on the dirt road, and just plain weren't moving anywhere.

    Here's looking down.

    rolleyes1.gifCrazy insects.

Anyhow - I just love the first shot. It makes me think they are having a secret meeting to take over the planet. When I used to ride my dirt bike or quad every weekend, I never saw any wildlife. You are so lucky to be in a great area where you get some good pictures.

I would definately print and hang that one on the wall if it was mine (heck, even if I saw it at the store I would buy it). thumb.gif

    Welcome to the site!
