He probably feels crammed in the workspace... He could rollerskate there...
Lovely shot. Nice to see the light come in in front of his desk, he is sitting in front of the doors. Maybe more to see for him outside then in this large corridor.
exposed!
This is an exposure of a totally exposed subject!
I would have to move my desk up against the wall otherwise I'd be worried about someone sneaking up behind me, altho I think you could hear a mouse coming in the echo chamber . . .
love how this shot makes the viewer, like me, feel . . .exposed, vulnerable, LONELY!
I would have to say for a security guard he looks extremely insecure and exposed!!! Poor guy.....the least they could do is give him a more substantial desk!!! Neat shot Sam.
Just to provide a little more info. These were taken at ISO 1600 with a shutter speed of 1/25. If I were more serious about this photo I would have changed lenses, and shot at f2.8, but I just used the lens I had on at the time which was the 24-105L. I don't do a lot of low light type work so some additional practice was nice.
Shmoo: JC and I talked to the poor guy, and he was happy to pose, and chat.
I left him a card and told him I would send a copy if he wanted it.
I explained the slow shutter speeds, and asked him to freeze for the photos, and he was very cooperative.
dlacouture, I deliberately shot, and posted this with the large foreground to emphasize the open lonely vault like environment he was sitting in all day.

I'm surprised he didn't get mad that you had a camera out and were taking photos.

He must have a PicooZ hidden somewhere (at least, I know I would!).
Bottom third could be cropped out, maybe...

Here is one that is a little closer.
Sam
I bet next time this guy will think twice before demanding a big office with a lot of windows...
