I had the lens, but sold it.
The range is pretty good but on a 30D, it was never wide enough.
The optics were so so and I didn't like the CA I got, and lastly it was slow.

If you are looking for a walking around lens, then I'd consider a 17-50mm ish zoom lens like a Tamron 17-50 or a Sigma 17-70, or a Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS.

It would be largely useless, considering the lineup of lenses you already have. You'd be dissapointed in every way compared to all three you have posted in your sig.

You will be very disappointed in the quality after using the 70-200mm L!
