Hello all!
Im new to the site and fairly new to DSLR photography.
I came here to learn and share our common passion; photography!
Here are a few pics that I took this past fall hiking Mt. Kearsage in New Hampshire.
Hope you enjoy, any tips or ideas are always welcome!
Here are a few cows grazing, stopped to capture them on our way to the mountain. They looked at me with great confusion as I took their photo!
Stopped to capture this neat little bridge covering a small seasonal creek:
(my friend in the background annoyed that I was taking so many photos)
On the way up stopped for a water break:
Made it to the top, public can climb and enter the Fire tower.
I went up and had a conversation with the forest ranger about the downed
airplanes around the mountain. If one can find them, fuselage still is there.
Old ranger post/cabin:
Had a small front porch, must of made for a great place to have a cold one and enjoy the views!!
View from a ledge:
Bottom right corner is the parking lot.
(What causes the blueish tint?)
Foliage view:
On the hike down spotted this interesting arraignment of dead trees:
The end.
Thanks for taking the time to look!:thumb
Im shooting with my kit lens on my Cannon XTI, (18-55)
Any recommendations on lenses for this type of photography? (telephoto?)
How about for wide angle lenses?
I know the photos are not perfect, but any ideas or tips are welcome!
Thanks!
-Adam

Hi Adam,
My wife and I were up there back at the end of Oct beginning of Nov. We too climbed Kearsarge. The blue cast happens because of the atmosphere and the chips' sensitivity to that part of the spectrum. Here's a thread on how to get rid of it in Photoshop:
http://tricks.onigo.net/guides/2005/08/remove-color-cast-step-by-step.html
Here's how it comes out when I do it:
Kevin
Thanks for the advice!
Its a fun mtn. to climb, my wife and I frequent it as well!
