Shopping cart problem

Hi,

While again admiring the sleek look of the pro account purchase procedure I noticed a problem (I thought this had been addressed and corrected some time ago - but my memory isn't always the greatest-so forgive me if wrong).....

When I hit the "proceed to checkout" option without choosing anything I get the att. "cart is empty" message - however when I clicked on "prints & gifts" from there I got the item / catalog page with the prices shown - yikes!! :cry

Didn't this used to go to the page of items WITHOUT the prices??
As it well should--how can this be corrected?:scratch

I even tried from other pro smugmug sites - same result, hmmmm...

Shouldn't be hard to redirect to the price-less page but how??:dunno :dunno

thanks,

    The plot thickens....
OK, further research indicates that from the actual shopping cart the page links to the proper version "http://www.smugmug.com/prints/catalog2.mg"
as should ALL access from a pro account site... deal.gif

How can I correct this? ne_nau.gif

Or is it at smugmugs end?headscratch.gif

    Any suggestions/code/etc? ne_nau.gif

I've searched on your site, where can I find a gallery with prints for sale?

note it appears to be the same result from all smugmug sites :cry

I see the same thing on your site and my own pro site as well. I think the issue is tied to being routed to Smugmug after clicking on Check Out. It will do the same thing with items in the cart if you click on the Prints & Gifts link twice. I really don't think there's a way to block this. People willing to dig will find it.

The issue is we don't know that the visitor is coming from your site, since they've not added anything to the cart. I wish I had a better answer for you, I really do :(

    Thanks for the response Andy.

However, can we look at this situation from another perspective...

Regardless of who's site 'they came from' is there ANY logical reason that clicking on that link in the footer should take them to a page with those pricesheadscratch.gifne_nau.gifheadscratch.gif
= when they could just as easily be sent to the page without ? mwink.gif

It's seems it was maybe just a 'minor oversight' at the time of the new (and much improved) cart being added...hmmmmne_nau.gif

re: Can the 'powers that be' simply change the link at smugmugs end from "prints/catalog.mg" (with prices)
to the other link "prints/catalog2.mg" (beautifully designed without prices) ??

ps note to jeff: I tried double-clicking, clicking twice, etc - from your actual cart and every time I got the page withOUT prices - thumb.gif
--I was unable to replicate your result from the cart
