Well, minimalism is about the last thing I normally do (did I miss the "fast action" challenge?), but I want to improve my photo skills, so thinking about throwing my hat in the ring.

Is this too busy?

Welcome to the boards Salt. Glad to have ya. I've seen busier minimalism, but the thing for me is that I have no idea what it is which makes it hard to relate to.

I think that "minimalism" is abstract, which is difficult for many to grasp. That is what makes this such a difficult competition because what is really "right" or "wrong" anyway? I don't envy the judge's job this week!

Welcome, Salt! I think that your photo is interesting, but I can't tell you why. I suppose that's what abstract art does, eh? Welcome to the board and I look forward to seeing your work!!!

OK, I guess I went more "abstract" than minimalist. If you're curious, here's the original of that photo:

I just inverted it in Fireworks (don't have photoshop). Those balls of snow are a few millimeters across - roost from ice racers.

So now I'm thinking maybe some of the other stuff I shot that day is minimalist? How about:

I don't know... I think it's back to the drawing board.

I like the original better, maybe if it was a little whiter? But the road shot is nice too.

And now, looking at them again, I think this is the one I'm going to enter:
