Just a few shots from the month of December here on Vancouver Island. I'm in the hunt for a 300mm f2.8 without VR. Can't wait...to be able to afford one and find one.

Thanks for looking. If you want to see more there should be a link here somewhere to my site. Off to hockey...

Looks like some harsh shooting conditions! You do need the 2.8 but some sunshine would be even better. The So Cal boys would have a hard time dodging those rocks and logs too. You have some nice shots on your site too.
    Have a great day!

I would have never expected to see surf there. You did well for the conditions.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The conditions here are difficult and I'm looking into getting the 120-300 f/2.8 in a couple months. The sun doesn't really shine all that often here during the winter, especially in the areas I surf at. Micro climates abound here. It can be gorgeous in town then a complete storm up there.
The surf here can be amazing. More often then not I miss the good shots though because I'm surfing. I lost a couple fins on a log today though. Smashed the fin boxes right back about an inch.
Here are a few more. Thanks, and if you have any insight on the 120-300 I'd love to hear it.

Hey Torags. Who's the surfer? Looks like it's from the Mav's contest over the weekend? I don't think we have a big wave spot like that here...yet. It'd be pretty sweet to see waves that big in real life.
