Here are a few of the birds that I saw while in Africa this past summer. Come on Florida lotto, I want to go back.
As with the pics that I posted a couple of days ago these are all unprocessed. I only ran them throught the image processor to convert them from RAW to JPEG and resize them. They were taken with my backup camera the D100 using my 80-400mm VR lens. All are either hand held or supported on a beanbag. Let me know what you think.

#1 We were near a tree in the Maasai Mara and these vultures kept flying straight at us and landing in the tree.

#5 This one looks like he/she (who could tell) wants to be on a flag or coin somewhere.

Very nice set of picturesthumb.gif Although I recognize a lot of these birds it would be nice if you would put the names of the birds with the photo's.
    My favorite is #10.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I've tried to identify what I could. I know that there are many different types of vultures but I am not sure which is which.

The only place that I had ever seen flamingo's was in a zoo, so I had never seen one take off. I was amazed at how they ran across the water the way they did.

What a great birding adventure! You can really tell the difference between old world and new world vultures just by looking at the talons! The flamingos, the secretary bird and the crowned crane are the stand-outs to me!thumb.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Harry. It's easy to get shots when the subjects cooperate.
