video not uploading from iphoto with current MacUploader

I have tried to upload 6 .avi videos from iphoto and only 3 of them are uploading. I was patient and they never came though to my site.

All the videos are .avi format taken from a Canon SD450 or like camera.

The videos are approximately 75 MB or less and about 45 - 55 seconds long each. Shouldn't these come through easily? They're really small and short clips.

Not a big deal if I can't upload them but my family would like to see them and I thought they would be easy uploads. I don't want to go through any extensive conversion of formats, especially since they should work fine.

Any ideas why they won't upload to SM?

Thanks

    Hey JT,

One thing you need to check if you have any upload problems, is your upload log...it's in the control panel on Stats tab.

    You log currently shows...

MVI_0303.AVI Error 2008-01-12 03:05:08 upload problem: wrong bytes received

Can you please try uploading this file again ?

    Cheers,

    David

    David,

First of all, thanks for looking into this.

What does "wrong bytes received mean?" Anyways...

This is how I am uploading with the MacUploader:

    1. I first tried dragging the three individual .avi files in question from iphoto to the uploader interface under FILES.

    2. Nothing happened, the entire box got a black wrap around it as it normally does when the files are getting queued, but then they don't get queued and so I try the other tab within the MacUploader.

    3. I select the folder from the IPHOTO tab where the 3 (total of 6 in the iphoto folder) movies are located.

    4. I select the gallery to send them to and upload.

    5. The 3 "previously" uploaded movies upload all over again and the 3 movies in question do not upload. It acts as if they are not there.

Again, they're about 70 MB in question and less than a minute each. headscratch.gif

I started another upload of the file again and it did the same exact thing by uploading the three files already uploaded and not the other three. I cancelled the upload before it completed so it wouldn't duplicate again. Any ideas of what's going on?

    Exact same issue?
    Greetings all!

SO, yah, I have this exact same issue..

    My exact process:
    1) Record video data with Canon PowerSHOT 570-IS
    2) Import data into iPhoto
    3) use MacDaddy 3.0.3 in files mode to upload file after drag and drop method of building a file list.
    - at this point file gets some small portion into the upload done, then stops with a "network error" on the GUI and in the upload log files I see this:
    MVI_1654.AVI n/a Error 2008-07-27 07:06:54 n/a
Message: upload problem: wrong bytes received
Lots and lots.. It really keeps trying on my behalf...

    4) Stop uploader..

Trouble is, it DOES work occasionally - I've got video up there..

    But mostly not..

    Any ideas?

Hi Guys we'll check on it. In the meantime try your videos with he Simple Uploader, they should upload fine.
