If you like aviation (who doesn't) ... then you gotta hit the Planes O' Fame in Chino, California. Not only is a a great collection of vintage planes ... but ... most of them are flight worthy.

For some small change you can even ride in a Corsair, Mustang or even a B-25.

That photo of the F-86 Sabre is very nice because it transmits the sense of speed.

Thanks Antonio (yes I came back to DGRIN.) What helped this shot was that the gunports were plugged with red painted wood.

Gary, excellent series. I really like how you use perspective and contra lighting to isolate the subject from distracting background clutters.thumb.gif I should check out the place since I'm only 20 miles away.

Yep go. I've been there twice ... and each time something old and cool took off and landed. I spoke to a guy who had booked a ride on a P-51 ... man what a look he had when he climbed out of the plane ... total rush. I queried him of the flight he said "... 350 miles per hour at 30 feet above the ground ... " The pilot even give him the stick for a while. Last weekend some dude won a raffle and flew in a P-40. The Warhawk did loops until the winner got sick ... lol. I ran into an Aussie ... I was totally surprised by him ... like Chino isn't really on any tourist map. He was having a grand time ... he travels to LA quite a bit on business and heard about the Planes of Fame ... he said it was much much better than what he expected. You can actually walk up and touch most the planes ... not only can you see history ... but also feel it. In the bone yard I pried open a door to a transport and climbed in.

I just think I talked myself into going back.
