I am looking for a solution that will allow viewers of my galleries to download a group of photos without downloading special software first. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I would love this, too. Lots of times I wish I could download a whole gallery.

It's not the solution that the first poster asked for since you do need to download the tool, plus you need to log on to your site - but are you aware of AlbumFetcher? I use it whenever I want to download an entire gallery.

    See http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=47160.

It's also not quite what you're looking for but check out SmugDAV.

It's pretty slick and works really well, although as the previous poster pointed out, people who use it will need your login and pw to use it.

    Enjoy!

I was going to suggest FriendSync from BlackBonsai, but it apparently has gone Bye-Bye....anyone know why?

It didn't require you to log in with with the SmugMug gallery owner's password, etc. (maybe that's why some didn't like it.

I used it successfully on several occasions. Simple, quick. (but now GONE).

It sounds like he's working on bringing the site back. In the meantime, you could have a look at AlbumFetcher, which now allows for visitor downloads as well according to the latest release notes:

    I hope this helps,

I have used AlbumFetcher before, but is there any way to only download photos with certain keywords? We are using SmugMug to manage the school's swim team's photos. At the end of the season, we put together a memory book and I'd rather not have to download all of the photos.

Would there be an easy way within SmugMug to copy photos (based on keyword) into a temporary gallery? Then I'd be able to use AlbumFetcher and just get the photos I need.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

    albumfetcher with keywording
    Hey PhotoShooter,
Here's an email exchange I had with someone a year ago who was able to modify Albumfetcher to download based on keywording. Never heard back from him but obviously it's must be easy to modilfy the Albumfetcher code. I just have no clue how to go about doing it. The guys dgrin name is "Nimai".
If you have come up with any solutions, I would appreciate hearing from you!

    Re: albumfetcher with keywording
    Hi, Bob-
I *think* I still have it. I haven't made use of it since the one time I needed it, and I switched jobs a few months ago. I was wondering recently whether I left my modified source code on my old work machine. I've been using a Mac with my new job for the last few months, so I haven't had a chance to look in a while.
I probably won't be able to help for the next few weeks - really swamped at work. I was always hoping the original author would update it with that feature! :)

Thanks and hoping to hear back from you,
    Bob

"Rather than fetching over 1000 images and sorting them out by keyword, I took the provided source (Thanks, wellman!) and added a Keyword filter edit box to the UI! It still takes quite a while for AlbumFetcher to get all the meta-data for the files, but once it starts downloading, it flew right by all the images that didn't have the Keywords I had specified"
