OMG! I just sold my first image via. PhotographersDirect!

I just sold an image to a big textbook company on PhotographersDirect! :barb It's my first stock sell, and it was for a few hundred dollars!

I'm **SO** excited!! I just needed to share it!

Funny thing is that I just posted this photo yesterday!! AND, I've only uploaded like 12 photos to PD so far!! WOW!

Hey - congrats on the sale!

I believe what you posted is fine. I just checked the sticky post at the head of this forum, and per the sticky: "This forum is for talking about the business related aspects of photography."

Was the buyer a US company buyer and, are you located in the US?
I tinkered with this website but, all I kept getting were email lists of buyer requests of location photos from locations everywhere BUT here (the US) :-(

They also do not like your photos on any of the "micro stock sites"...
naturally.

It was a US company, and I'm in the US. And, I don't use the microstock sites at all.. I think I'd feel dirty selling an image royalty free for $0.20....

We ALL should feel dirty selling a royalty free image for 20-cents! I'm sure there will be a model somewhere soon (if there isn't already) where you actually pay 20-cents for someone to use your photo, but that's an whole different topic.

Congrats on your sale and thanks for posting. Personally, I'm always curious to see what kind of work sells. It's almost always different than I expect (and that includes my own work).

Step 1: Start a website where photographers pay YOU to give their photos away
Step 2: SELL the photos you've already been paid to give away
Step 3: PROFIT!!!
