I use the Tamrac Expedition 5 (although mine looks slightly different to the pic). With the Bigma on the camera and the hood reversed it fits into the centre slot with room for another lens (much the same as what looks like a 100-400 in the pic). With another lens on the camera, I rearrange the slots so the Bigma fits into one of the side slots. I have a pic somewhere...

Oh yes, I don't think I want anything bigger as the bag is pretty heavy already, with my current kit.

cheers BigAl thumb.gif I have been looking at the Lowepro fastback and computrekker plus AW, but really will look at anything if it can hold the bigma attached to the camera. I will check that bag out.

I bought a Tamrac Expedition 5 (old style) on ebay for $40. What a bargain. It's in absolutely perfect condition, from the day I bought it, to the present. One tough bag. I don't have a bigma. But, I do have a Tamron 200-500mm, and that lens is what prompted me to upsize my bag. I needed to bag my camera with that lens attached. It's a wonderful bag.

Now, I have a Wimberley sidekick (just got it), and either it stays on my tripod, or I need a bigger bag. But, I can hardly lift my bag now with the lenses, camera, other stuff, etc.. Bigger is not always better. mwink.gif

A firm believer in getting the best bang-for-the-buck, I've used the Canon 200EG backpack for several years now. It's one highly functional camera backpack bag for under $40 delivered. Ugly green and black Canon colors, sure, but quite rugged and up to the job. Rex did a nice review on it recently: http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=81813.

In combination with Canon's matching Zoom Pack 1000 holster for a second body and lens, you have an unbeatable set for all seasons and situations ... except maybe white water where a Lowpro DryZone is needed.

My Bigma, with 30D or 40D mounted, fits the center section of the backpack perfectly, with space to spare for several lenses, 580ex flash, NodalNinja, etc., and about 3 inches to spare below the Bigma for the charger and spare batteries.

Other areas carry model releases and manuals, and rather than a notebook computer I stick a NovoFlex ChestPod in the bungee corded outside area. Heavy when storing stuff over a long work week, yes ... but I add and remove stuff as I need it when it is in actual use.

it might not be a "high end" expensive bag, but it sure does the job and has seen several thousand miles of travel and several hundred hours of hard use and still looks quite good. And the green and black color scheme grows on you.

Of course, if you are using Nikons, you might not like the Canon logo!

Thanks dusty dog. I haven't seen a lot of tamracs in the shops here in Japan, so can't try one out too easily. Might have to look into it a bit more. Cheers. Same one as BigAl, so the Bigma certainly fits...

Cheers Henry. Thanks for the detailed feedbackthumb.gif I have heard a lot of people saying they like the Canon packs. I am a Nikon user though... ;) But actually, I don't want the logo on the bag that screams "Camera inside!"
