Hi there Courierman, congratulations on your new Lens.
Those little Springtails are such cute looking little critters,
I am yet to find one.

Your right about getting better from here on in,
takes a while to get used to such a shallow DOF with this lens.

All the best with your learning curve,
Using a flash is the way to go with that lens thumb.gif ... Skippy :D

LOvely springtail shots Courirman and congrats on the lens.
I assume these are flash at those settings - they almost look like natural light shots which I think is impossible. They also look better than the shots you originally posted on POTN- not so many compression artifacts.
You are right about the blue tint (one of the reasons they look like natural light a bit)- I don't get any tinting with my setup - do you shoot RAW or JPG?

I look at all these posts in the holy macro threads of all sorts of bugs - I think I am bug-o-phobic or something (especially spiders -eek). I just wouldn't like to get near these creatures. So, kudos to you and all the others.

you know the best way to stop being a bug-o-phobic is to start photographing them :D
