Iridescence
When the sun hits the Magpie just right the iridescence of its feathers shows that it is actually quite an attractive bird.

Seriously, nice captures and that is a pretty looking bird and a tough one to expose correctly As Doc points out, you may need to utilize your human to avian interpersonal skills more. Put that Magpie at ease.....lol
