Let me know what you think. Is the background distracting? What about the crop? Aside from all that, I think this is just a gorgeous looking bird. :

What a beautiful bird to photograph. Since you got so close was it caged or behind a closure or out in the open ? Very nice shot Jen.

He was in an enclosure, but the keeper was kind enough to let me and Marina in to get some closer shots. He moved around a LOT...made him a not-so-easy subject.

Very sharp and detailed. BG is not distracting to me. Can you recrop to include all of the crane's crown? Other than that, fantastic shot!

Thanks, Stephen. I can re-crop it if I need to, yes. I was trying to minimize the background as much as possible, which ended up in part of the crown being cut out. I'm glad you liked it otherwise!

You caught a great pose, the lousy crane just had to do it while there was a wall behind it. If the wall could disappear that would be great but with or without the wall its an excellent capture.

Thanks, Harry! The white part is actually sandy gravel. The wall was even uglier...half chain-link, half wooden boards. Glad you still think it's excellent.
