Gallery order within a category messed up

On my home page I have categories listed across the top of my page and then in those are galleries. It is very annoying.

I want my galleries to appear in a certain order with a category REGARDLESS of which gallery has been modified most recently. But everytime I mess with a gallery in one category it "magically" moves.... How do I get my galleries within a category to stay where I want them?

For example, here is my site http://www.lifeisahighwayphotography.smugmug.com/ and under Client Proofing, I want my two sessions from today, Kristen and Patrick to be the top galleries in that category. Yet because I edited a photo in the Kim, Karen & Families gallery, that is the one listed first.

How do I fix this?

Thank you-

    Hi :)

You most likely have your galleries set to sort by most recent. To change this, go into your control panel and click on the Homepage tab. You will need to click on show in the upper right corner of the galleries section to place them on your homepage for just a second. Once they are on your homepage, look in the upper left corner of the galleries box and where it says sort by, click on position. You can then click on "hide" in the upper right corner to put them back in your control panel.

You should now be able to click on "arrange" in the upper left corner of your categories and subcategories and move the galleries where you want.

Holler if you have any problems.

Is there a hack to sort by creation date?
When I set it to position I can use the arrange option within the category to sort by creation date. But, then when I add a new gallery it shows up at the bottom. I want galleries sorted by creation date with newest showing up at the top. I DON'T want them by recent, because with tons of them it is too hard to keep track and find them all when they're not dated or alphabetized or anything.
Anyone know any hacks to get this done? A thousand thanks in advance if you do :)
