    Great shots, Brian. Really like #2. Just goes to show what a small change in angle can do for getting more in focus.

    I love the second shot Brian the wings are just beautiful.
    Love the detail clap.gif in the wings they make me think of Fairy Wings.

    Thanks for looking and commenting everyone :)- much appreciated.

    Job3210 - in this case a lot of practice and focus stacking.

    GaryT - yes you are right but apart from the reflection in #2 I actually prefer the angle in #1

    Picturthis - the tiny fly would have been around 2" or less in front of the lens.

    BigAl - think my one looks a bit cleaner :) - no seriously there are quite a few species of these moth flies some with quite nice wing markings as in your case.
