Hello, new here
[FONT="]Hi! I'm new to Dgrin and since I am currently in bird mode, specifically in flight, thought I'd post a few pelicans. I am using a Nikon D100 that was given to me about three weeks ago. My primary lens is a Nikon 18-135mm, but I have a Tamron 200-400mm that will not auto-focus properly any more and is really only good for still shots. Anyway, still trying to figure out this whole world of dSLR.
Comments are more than welcome. I know I have a LOT to learn.
White pelican at Balboa Wildlife Preserve.
Same preserve, different pelican (I think).
Brown pelican at Malibu this afternoon.
I am using Photoshop CS2 to PP, but still have not quite got it down.

Good flight shots. The D100 is a good camera, it was my first DSLR and it will give you some great shots once you gte to know it.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Maestro and ShepsMom, thanks, the first two were taken at the end of the day, the third, mid day.
I either need to get a bigger lens or the birds need to start flying closer towards me.

Hi Dave, nice meeting you the other day at the basin.
You seem to get some good reach out of that 18-135mm lens.
Welcome to DGRIN and looking forward to seeing you again soon.
