Allright, some more skiins shots... Very thankful for the feedback so far from everybody here, really appreciate it. I've actually spent the last 4 hours PP'ing these pics in Lightroom, I've learned a lot already thanks to Kelby's book!

Would really appreciate more cc / feedback, I'm working hard to improve and I would be grateful for harsh, realistic, helpful advice & comments!

thanks folks,
-bernardo

Some really awesome shots here. Looks like you did better on the second time aroundthumb.gif Would love for you to list some settings. Also you may want to check your histogram as many seem a little underexposed. These totally rock and make me want to get up to the mountains real soon for some shots.

I second the underexposure. When I shoot snowboarding I tend to push things .7 to 1 ev. I rarely use the histogram, opting for the binkie mode. I try to get 15% to 25% of the snow blown. Let's face it, it's white and you don't need 100% of the detail there. You're far more interested in the detail on the athlete.

Thanks for the input guys! Yes now that I look at them again, they look underexposed ... Tell you the truth, I expose everything +1 in snow, yesterday while PP'ing them they looked somewhat overexposed so I did lots of exposure changes in Lightroom and guess I overdid it.

I also party blame my LCD screen which is super-bright seen front a certain angle, and becomes darker seen from a different angle ... I have to figure out how to get more consistent LCD 'quality'.

Cool tip about 15-25% of the snow blown - I always worry when any part of the photographs blow, but I guess snow is supposed to ...

Ps: POW rocks :D Indeed nothing better than landing a 30ft'er jump into soft pow and skiing out of it!
