Yeah I'm not sure I have anything good enough to win and am not sure I'll enter, but I do think people here have a shot for sure.

First, sorry, duplicate posting is never OK at dgrin. I've deleted your other (but same) thread from our Contests forum which is for our own contests.

Second, I've also moved this thread to our wide angle forum - the Landscapes forum is for shots only.

Finally, this competition, with it's entry fees is not the type of thing we like to openly publicize on our forums. It really smells of spam and advertising, something we try very, very hard to have none of at dgrin.

Perhaps we're missing something and you can tell us more about it? For now, I'll let this thread stand in this, our general off-topic discussion forum.

    thanks,

    thanks,

Thanks Eric for the post and explination I appreciate it. I have no vested interest in this competition or gain from posting it. I only posted incase someone might be interested. To me paying 50$ isn't my thing but with the chance of someone potentially getting into a gallery... I thought maybe someone might want to.

Thanks for your understanding. If you would like me to remove this post I'm definetly ok with it.

    Sorry,
    Mike

No worries Mike - replied to your PM. The move and delete were just by the book. Thank you for not taking it personally, my comments may have been on the overprotective side for the dgrin community. It's a valid photo contest, decide for yourself (everyone).

    Its a rip-off. $50 entry fee for a $500 award. :yikes.

The "gallery" will make more money from entries than it will from any other source. Do a Google search for the gallery.

How about entering the Behret Gallery contest. Send me a picture and $50. I will probably get 30-40 entries for a total of around $2,000. I will gladly pay the winner $500 and hang it on my "gallery" wall and then I will buy me a new lens.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Hell send me $50 and you can submit a picture of your butt. You just may win the grand prize. It would proudly hang from one of the walls in one of my bathrooms. They get a lot of traffic and your shot would get lots of exposure.:ivar

Send me $50 and you won't even have to submit a picture! I'll just clear a space on my wall where it would've hung.
