This is an interesting shot; the face-like feature near the top of the image draws my attention immediately for some reason, it almost takes away from the rest of the photo.

Also, and I find this a bit fascinating, I don't get a good feel of the size of things in this photo. Where was this taken? Do you have a color version as well?

    Ivar, thanks for the comments.

Without being too specific, this is in the California Mojave Desert. I tried to keep the intention of the shot very simple and singular, attention riveted to the 'eyes.' So much that the 'face' is only a vague frame for them. I wanted everything going right back to what I felt is a somewhat haunting and disturbing expression. I felt the 'forehead' detracted from that. I shot this with B&W in mind but there was a snowfall the night before that gave the rocks a certain color dimension with the melting snow that they rarely have. If I can exploit it better in color later then I'll run with it instead, but first I need to try using it to nail the viewer where I want them. I'm fascinated with anthropomorphics and at this point feel that scale diminishes the effect.

    Hmmm
    I know those rocks.
You could call them what my son called them. The superman rocks because he punched all the holes in them.
    Cool shot
I found this face while tracking a bird246051968-L.jpg
