Horse Shows & Model Release Question?

I have been invited to be the photographer for a rare breed horse show that will be going on later this year. Since these horses are RARE breeds - I was thinking it might be good to use their photographs as stock photography for magazines that are looking for pictures of these horses as well.

Admission to the show is free - except for parking - would I be able to use an image I took from this horse show without a model release? I will be taking pictures of hundreds of people...is it necessary to get a release from the ONE or TWO people I decide after looking at my results to use for stock? (such as they are doing something with the horse showing it's versatility etc and they are in the picture). I've never had to deal with something like this so I am a little lost...

Anyone know anything about this stuff??

Also - If, per chance, the show is held in an indoor arena, anyone have any advice as to the best way to make sure I can still get quality images of the show?
